First Class to Europe for $1200? Last Chance!

There’s been some pretty great Black Friday / Thanksgiving travel deals this week, but one I stumbled upon today ends tomorrow!

Avianca is a Colombian airline that’s part of the Star Alliance along with the likes of United and Lufthansa. Right now, they have a sale where you can purchase miles and get a 145% bonus in addition. This brings the cost of the miles down to around 1.35 cents per mile, which is a steal when you look at what you can purchase with them.

Avianca has a pretty good award chart with some good redemption rates to Europe and Asia. One way business class flights are 63,000 miles to Europe, and first class is 87,000. With this promotion, this would cost about $850 or $1,174 respectively! If you live on the east coast the prices in business drop slightly to 60,000 miles.

You can purchase 200,000 miles per year before the bonus, which would net you a total of 490,000 miles. Total cost would be $6,600, which while steep is still pretty good when you think of the redemption options. Here’s just a few of the things you could do with 490,000 LifeMiles:

  • 3 round trip flights from the US to Europe with enough miles left over for two business class transcon flights in the US.
  • Two first class flights from the US to Singapore with enough for a one way business class flight to Australia from Singapore.
  • 65 (yes you read that right) domestic US shorthaul flights (US is split into three regions for redemptions, Ian at Points with a Crew explains the benefits nicely.

Some pretty incredible redemption if you ask me! It looks like the LifeMiles website is being a bit temperamental at the moment, but once it’s back working check it out! The offer ends tomorrow!
